Prof. Jan Hanousek "Where Theory Meets Practice: Empirical Application of Large Pan-European Firm-level Data"
Practical lecture organized by Prague Wall Street Club in cooperation with Applied Economics Discovery Hub at CERGE-EI.
Prof. Jan Hanousek is a Citigroup Endowment Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI.
We will discuss several issues related to the AMADEUS database [Bureau van Dijk] which covers approximately 21 million firms from both Western and Eastern Europe. In particular, we will provide information about the structure and coverage of the database. Depending on audience interest, we will discuss the problems associated with data storage and usage. Finally, several examples of different applied financial research projects will be introduced and presented.
