HR Award at Charles University
What is the HR Excellence in Research Award
The HR Excellence in Research Award (also known as the “HR Award“) is granted to universities and institutions that succeed in implementing the European Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) based on the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The Charter and the Code are a set of principles and requirements for researchers and their employers concerning areas such as ethics, working conditions, professional development, equal opportunities, evaluation, or recruitment of new employees.
Charles University was granted the "HR Award" by the European Commission in February 2019 as a recognition of the University‘s commitment to the continuous improvement of working conditions for research staff and to maintaining high standards in human resources. In 2021, the University underwent a continuous evaluation and is currently seeking to renew the award.
In implementing the European strategy for human resources development, the University has focused in particular on:
- career development and the evaluation of employees;
- ethical principles;
- equal opportunities;
- strengthening the bilingual environment,
- and opportunities for further education.
Emphasis was also placed on internationalization, working conditions and on supporting young talents at the beginning of their research careers.
